Electrical Engineer – Dorking – Permanent

Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager you will be involved in all matters in the electrical engineering design and development of the Bucher Municipal and Johnston Sweepers range.

The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of automotive electrical engineering together with the ability to design automotive electrical circuit diagrams, preferably using E3 CAD software.  An understanding of CAN-based control systems is also essential for the role.

You will assist in the prototyping of new components and assemblies and evaluate and test them under representative conditions.

An ability to work within a multi-disciplined team and excellent communication skills are also essential criteria.

Senior Software Engineer

Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager you will be involved in all matters in the software engineering design and development of the Bucher Municipal range of road sweeping machines, specifically the embedded control software and associated HMI.

The successful candidate will have the ability to demonstrate developing control/control panel software using C/Structured Text (IEC61131), and methodologies used for software design (e.g V-model), have an understanding of automotive electronics and CAN-based control systems and software, including sensors, PWM valves.  An ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of using 1-D software to develop control software is also essential for this role.

The ability to manage and develop a small team, including training in software engineering standards, excellent communication skills both oral and written and demonstrate the ability to work within multi-disciplined teams are also a requirement for this role.

Apprentices – Dorking – Permanent

Our apprenticeships offer a solid introduction to a career within the Manufacturing Engineering industry.  We are committed to making your apprenticeship a success and in return we expect you to demonstrate the same level of commitment and the highest level of performance in your work tasks and studies.

Sheet Metal Fabrication You will be required to develop a skillset to produce high standard metal components for Johnston Sweepers.  You will be trained in the operation of the laser and brake press machines together with learning MIG welding in both mild and stainless steel.

Mechanical Engineering – Develop relevant skills to do the job, e.g. the ability to assemble the product, read engineering drawings, and understand engineering regulations.  You will be required to develop the skills to become a qualified Assembly Fitter.

Logistics – This apprenticeship will develop the skillset required to be a successful logistics professional within a manufacturing environment.  You will need good organisational skills and ability to read and interpret technical documentation and work alongside multiple professionsals to achieve targets.
